NETS & HotShots Program (Fall 2010)
Who is eligible for the NETS? NETS players can at a minimum play a tennis match with no supervision and can and should be playing in NET (non-elimination) tournaments. They know basic rules, scoring and etiquette can sustain a rally and have a dependable serve. You cannot register for NETS
unless one of our pros has observed your play in the Rookies program and has recommended that you are ready for this program. If you are new to
our facility and think you qualify for this program, contact the office and one of our pros will hit with you and recommend what program is
appropriate for you. NETS players should be playing in our monthly NET tournaments. Program includes instruction, conditioning, strategy and
match play.
Who is eligible for HotShots? HotShots is for advanced players who are serious and want to compete. They should be playing in at least one
tournament a month. If you are new to our facility, contact the office and one of our pros will hit with you to see what program is appropriate for you.
Program includes instruction, conditioning, strategy and match play.
When is the program held? NETS and HotShots meet from 5-6:30pm any two days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) and everybody comes for
“Match Play Wednesdays” and generally play competitive matches. It is a 3 day a week program. One week you can come M-T-W and the next
week you could come T-W-Th. There is no program on Friday.
Can I come all four days? Yes you can. The fee for fourth day is an additional $13 per week.
Can I pay daily if I am not enrolled in the 3, 4 or 5 week session? This is highly discouraged because it makes it very difficult to run a program
when you don’t know in advance who “might” show up and you don’t have students committed to the program. You would have to contact the office
during each session to see if it is OK to pay daily during that session. Some sessions it might be OK and other sessions not.
The daily fee for M, T or Th is $18
I am in another program and need match play; can I pay daily for the “Match Play Wednesdays”? Yes, you can do this because on
Wednesdays it is not so critical that we know how many players will be there. You must be there before 5pm and depending on number of players
and available courts, you may be playing doubles or singles. The players that are committed to this program are always looking for “fresh blood”.
The “Match Play Wednesday” fee is $8
What about discounts and refunds? There is a 10% discount for each additional sibling in your family. There is also an
“Early Registration Discount” (see below). There are NO REFUNDS or credits toward future sessions other than for medical emergencies or relocations.
How and When do I register? Registration for this program is done in person with cash, charge card or check (make out to East Valley Tennis) or
by phone (480-654-3787) with charge card. There is NO online registration for this program.
Office staff will have a list of recommended players for this program. No doubt, some qualified players will have fallen through the cracks. If you are
not on the list and feel you should be there, just leave your name and phone # with the staff and someone will get back to you real quick regarding your registration. Registration is ongoing and starts August 2.
