Mesa Youth Tennis
5-8th grade lesson/league program for beginners
Play tennis (if you can?). It’s not for sissies!
What: A lesson/league program for beginners and advanced beginners. Students are taught the basics and
after a few weeks teams are formed and students compete as a team as they would in other team
sports.
Who: This program is for 5th through 8th grade beginning & advanced beginning students ONLY.
(Regardless of a student’s size or athletic ability, they must be in at least the 5th grade).
When: The program is on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15pm
Session runs from March 26 through May 17. Week of May 21 is for makeups.
Where: Gene Autry Tennis Center, 4125 E. McKellips Rd. in Mesa.
Equipment: Tennis racquets and balls are provided and each player receives a team t-shirt.
Fees: Fee is $75 if registered by Wednesday, March 21. Late registration fee after March 21 is $85.
Sponsors: Mesa Youth Tennis is sponsored by Ace Tennis Association, a 501(c) (3) non-profit
organization. Certified tennis professionals Tom Kenney and Joe Bosworth are program
administrators.
Coaches: We are in need of volunteer coaches to coach teams and grow youth tennis.
Contact Joe Bosworth (602-524-1730). You do not need to be a tennis pro or great player
to coach a team. You can be a parent or player who likes kids and wants to help out.
We’ll train you and provide you with everything you need to make it an enjoyable experience.
